The Service Boot is an updated interpretation of our original work boot, designed by our founder Edwin Viberg in 1931. It is a classic lace up, ankle boot pattern and a versatile option in any wardrobe. It was the first model we offered and remains our most popular today.
Horween’s signature Chromexcel leather uses a proprietary recipe that was developed more than 100 years ago and has remained mostly unchanged to this day. Chromexcel is a full-grain, combination tanned leather with a distinct pull-up and full aniline, hand rubbed finish. It has a soft temper and waxy feel, making it perfectly suited for footwear. We have been using heavyweight Chromexcel leather at Viberg for over a decade and its unmatched versatility has made it a staple in our pieces.
